One of GEORGE JONES’ large series of DOGWOOD pieces which included
pitchers, plates, smaller cheese or butter keepers. Really a wonderful
pattern to collect. For those who love GEORGE JONES MAJOLICA this
stupendous CHEESE KEEPER will be the centerpiece of the collection.
This shade of TURQUOISE was a signature of his ware. Excellent
condition except for hair line on the tray which is pictured otherwise mint.
MAJOLICA is a brightly colored, tin-glazed earthenware that became
popular in Britain in the 1850s. By the time the Centennial Exposition in
Philadelphia was held in 1876, the craze had spread to the U. S.
