History of Adams and Co;

Previous to 1846 John Adams was an apprentice. He opened his own

glass factory in 1851 and by 1861 it was one of the largest glass factories

in the Pittsburgh area. In 1884 he purchased the burned out factory site

of Challinor & Taylor and remained as Adams and Co until 1891 when it

merged into the United States Glass Co (U. S. Glass) and was called

“Factory A”. Members of the Adams and Co partnership who had joined

the U. S. Glass Co. disposed of their stock in 1892 and retired from the

glass business. U. S. Glass remained in business until the 1930s.

Most people who owned Antique and Vintage Items loved and cherished them which gives them Personality, Character, and the Patina we all love. However, Do Expect the usual characteristics of Vintage glass, ie. tiny bubbles and occasional `straw marks', or annealing lines on the surface.

Please view all the pictures and send an email if you have any

questions. I liquidate and buy from estates and private sellers, all

items are sold in as found condition.

Most of my items are ANTIQUE OR Vintage with patina, which adds

to the charm of the item, and will naturally show some wear from

age and use. I have endeavored to photograph and accurately

describe every item as to its condition and authenticity.

Photographs are part of the description.
