This listing is for a pair of beautiful DOMINICK & HAFF Sterling Silver
oval vegetable dishes, c. 1917.
PROVENANCE “JOSEPH STRONG MCKEEN FAMILY OF TERRE HAUTE,
The MCKEEN family came to the Terre Haute aria before 1820. Joseph
McKeen was affiliated with the MCKEEN National Bank which later
became First National Bank.
These lovely BOWLS have an elaborately raised floral design on the upper
sections. Each dish is marked with Trademark Stamp for Dominick & Haff,
Sterling, ‘AH 286 – 70’. Dominick & Haff operated in New York, NY from
1868 – 1928 and were known for their very fine quality sterling silver hollow
ware and flatware, they were absorbed by Reed & Barton.
Measure 2” high, 10 ½” long x 8” wide. Combined weight is 21.12 Tr Oz.
These stunning dishes are in very good vintage condition having been in the
MCKEEN family since 1917 and received excellent care. NO pitting, 2 small
dings (they have been used) - see pictures. These dishes display beautifully
WITH lots of Historical Value.
Pictures were difficult to take – So much reflection (even picked up color of
my red shirt). Silver always has a great deal of reflection. More pictures
