GORHAM CHASED REPOUSSE Pattern
The gorgeous #601 American Gorham brush Measures ABOUT 9 5/8" long
by 3 1/8" at the widest part. IT IS THE LARGEST SIZE AVAILABLE IN THIS PATTERN
AND VERY DIFFICULT TO FIND. Very heavy gauge sterling but difficult to weigh
for troy ounces due to the brush part. This brush was made in 2 sizes. This is
the largest one #C601. Beautiful Art nouveau cartouche with lovely Victorian Script
Every inch has spectacular REPOUSSEE work with flowers and leaves!
Condition is very good with no splits. I have seen these having a mirror put
in to replace the brush part which is very clever or you can look for a mirror
to add to the set. The Hallmark is at the base of the brush – early Gorham mark,
Sterling, and the number C601.
The button hook matches the brush on one side but on the other side has
the beautiful Chased REPOUSSE flowers & leaves pattern – see pictures. It
measures slightly over 8” in length.
The shoe horn matches and measures about 5 7/8” long, marked with
the Gorham hallmark and # B235 or 285 (#s hard to read). The initials
are the same as those on the button hook. Has been gently used –
see pictures. Included is the Nail Buffer AND NAIL FILE in the same pattern
and marked B12 with script initials and in the same beautiful Floral Chased
REPOUSSE pattern. Would make a beautiful and fantastic addition to your
DRESSING TABLE or GUEST BATH. Perfect for a Modern or Victorian Setting.
All are in the wonderfully ornate Floral Chased REPOUSSE pattern made
by Gorham in 1890.
Beautiful ornate SCRIPT monograms – the quality of these monograms
is not done anymore – they look more like a design, which you will
never find again. Truly a collector's item from the Victorian era.
In EXCELLENT VINTAGE condition. Purchased from the family of the original owners. MORE
PICTURES AVAILABLE TO SERIOUS BUYERS.
